Summary of Study of Microcomputers in Small- and Medium-Sized Colombian Firms, 1985-1986 is the latest addition to the DISC online data archive. This study examines the utilization and diffusion of microcomputers in small- and medium-sized manufacturing firms in the three major cities of Colombia–Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali. Carried out between 1985-1986, the study includes interviews in over 60 graphic arts, metalwork and clothing businesses with over 180 top managers and employees. Information was collected on the overall business and on expectations and perceptions of microcomputer usage including possible factors explaining successful implementation. Data were also obtained on work satisfaction and employee characteristics.
